This is the newest position in a volunteer lineup and came about after our Founder's own unique approach to dealing with Veteran's Crisis Incidents. This role is at Trustee level.

Len realised that in any crisis a few things need to be present:

  • Someone that has overall control of the crisis, who has a calming approach, and knows what to do, and has a good level of common sense, and relevant training.

  • Someone that has a network at their disposal, and willing to lead it.

  • Someone who is going to do what it takes to get the job done, and call on the network and other organisations to help, and does not recognise barriers.

"Having read countless books about veterans in hard situation these things seem to be present, and when this is applied the Veterans Crisis incidents this seems to be an ideal solution to overcome the immediate crisis". - Len

The Crisis Support Director, preferably themselves having served in the Armed Forces, with all the attributes above plays a huge part in managing the Forces Online CIO Veteran's Crisis Interventions, as well as bringing their own unique skill which will be useful in our support background structure.  The organisation will be looking for at least 10 or new CSDs so they will be part of a unique team that will cover the organisation during both office and out of hours periods, and help the organisation's approach to develop an already successful plan to "Helping Veteran's and their Families where ever we can".

So if you think you have what it takes, and want a unique voluntary, challenge then we would be happy to hear from you.....
